ALL DAY I DREAM SHOWCASE with music by LEE BURRIDGE, YOKOO, Lost Desert
On Thursdays, Scorpios welcomes the Deep Playa, masters of tech-tinged psychedelic house ripened under the Black Rock Desert sun.
Since spending his formative years taking in London’s acid house scene and carrying its influence to Hong Kong in the 1990s, Lee Burridge has gone on to become a household name. As well as founding the All Day I Dream record label—with Scorpios residents Bedouin, Viken Arman, Lost Desert, and YokoO all part of the family—Burridge secured his legend status with his famed closing sets at Burning Man, which have lasted up to seven hours in recent years. This All Day I Dream showcase sees both Lee Burridge and Lost Desert take to the decks.
Groovy basslines and glowing synth riffs are the soundtrack to YokoO’s life, which so far has been spent roaming the globe and imbibing the cultural output of Berlin, Australia, and beyond. This Frenchman’s house music has the seal of approval from some of the world’s top labels, including All Day I Dream, Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Kindisch, Get Physical, Moodmusic, and Plastic City.
Exploring themes of solitude, time, and landscapes, Lost Desert takes sound samples from his own lived experiences and orchestrates them into reflective soundscapes. In all senses of the word, Lost Desert is an experimentalist, one who believes that musical material is ubiquitous.
In his decades long career, Athenian-born LANNKA has always been drawn to creating music whose melody and harmony takes listeners on a dance-floor adventure. But it’s his collaboration with fellow Greek DJ Valeron—under the label Bercana,—with global musical influences that can truly be described as transcendental.
