Born and raised in Brasilia, Fernanda is the artist behind the JAÇIRA project, whose name comes from an indigenous Brazilian language, Tupi. Involved in theater for many years, the artist takes her performative talents to the dance floor and uses them to weave sound and visuality together into sets full of surprises. Deeply influenced by her Latin American heritage, she considers herself an anthropological musical researcher whose sets tell narratives filled with different kinds of emotions based in digital macumba, afro grooves, deep latin folk and experimental circus vibe. Fernanda produces her own music and is part of the duo “Kurup & Jaçira” who perform live with electronic and acoustic instruments and vocals. She has brought her unique sound across the world and has performed at many parties and festivals.
